Colorado Review has accepted my poems “Night but Unlike Night” & “Peel the Black Walnut Bark like Small Fists in our Fists”

On my birthday yesterday, one of my very favorite journals, Colorado Review, accepted my two poems: “Night but Unlike Night” & “Peel the Black Walnut Bark like Small Fists in our Fists.” What a treat! CR has published two of my poems before, as well as a creative nonfiction essay, and it’s a journal I hold close to my heart. Thank you Matthew Cooperman and everyone at CR! These two poems are particular favorites of mine, and at the center of the developing manuscript of my third poetry book. I’m overjoyed they will appear in Colorado Review!

My poem Circuitry Suite in the Whitman on Walls Anthology!

Delighted to receive my contributor copy of the Whitman on Walls anthology, which includes my newly commissioned poem “Circuitry Suite,” responding to passages from Walt Whitman’s Song of Myself. It was a delight and an honor to perform this last August at the Everson Museum of Art alongside an awesome group of other poets and performers. Huge thanks to Karin Coonrod and everyone with Compagnia de’ Colombari for making this all happen.

You can view their short film “Infinite Variety,” which my poem was also responding to on their Vimeo page here: https://vimeo.com/507829941

Brian Citro’s Acoustic Pastime – Solo Guitar just released from ears&eyes Records!

My nephew Brian Citro has just had released an album of solo jazz guitar (5 of his original compositions 2 Thelonious Monk tunes, and a jazz standard) from Chicago’s ears&eyes Records. It’s called “Acoustic Pastime – Solo Guitar,” and it’s a dreamy, meditative, beautiful album and I highly recommend it. Also, I wrote the liner notes to it! You can purchase the album (for any price you wish) HERE.And you can read my liner notes there too!
