It’s a delight to have received my contributor copy of the new Salamander #51, which contains my poem “Let Go Inside Let It Out,” as well as stunning work by so many poets and writers I admire. Thank you Katie Sticca, José Angel Araguz, Anna V.Q. Ross, and the whole Salamander team! I’ve been working on some lyric essays inspired by the strong and weak nuclear forces…and this poem sort of grew out of that little obsession. 🙂

“Let Go Inside Let It Out” Accepted at Salamander!
I’m thrilled to share the news that Salamander has accepted my poem “Let Go Inside Let It Out.” It’s got the moon in it, along with the strong and weak nuclear forces, dogs, snakes, and my mom. This news anytime would be a reason to jump for joy. During this frightening, difficult time…I could positively break into blossom.
“Kindling Me” Online at Salamander
The editors at Salamander have made my short poem “Kindling Me” from the summer 2013 issue (V18 N2) available online in its entirety. The poem is supposed to be in couplets, but otherwise it’s okey-dokey.
You can read the poem HERE.
Thanks Salamander!
Trees: Symbols of Powerful Experiences
Two of my poems have been chosen to be part of the juried visual art and poetry show Trees: Symbols of Powerful Experience in the gallery at The Tech Garden here in Syracuse, NY. The show is curated by artist-in-residence Maria Rizzo.
My chosen poems are “Our Apple Trees” (first published as a broadside by Thrush Press) and “Kindling Me” (first published in Salamander).
The opening ceremony, including food, live music and awards, will be from 5-8 pm on November 21, 2013. The full exhibition runs from November 14 to December 31, 2013, Monday through Friday from 9 am to 4 pm.
Thank you Maria Rizzo and Poetry Juror Lindsey Bellosa!
