Poems Accepted at Mid-American Review & Sycamore Review!

A great big, dewy-eyed thank you to the editors of Mid-American Review for accepting my poems “One Light in a Field of Other Lights” and “At First It Buzzed Then Even the Buzzing Stopped” and to the editors of Sycamore Review for accepting my poem “It’s Something People In Love Do.” It’s sunny here in Syracuse and the birds in the driveway are singing.

Cider Press Review & JuxtaProse

The downside – this is what spring looks like in Syracuse right now.

The upside – thank you to Ruth Foley and the other editors of the Cider Press Review for accepting my poem “But I Live Here (Empty Place).”

And thank you to Ian Haver and the staff of JuxtaProse Literary Magazine for accepting “Gluing the Teapot Back Together Anyway” and “Run for Your Life but Don’t Forget to Tie Your Shoes” – two of the collaborative prose poems I’ve been writing with Dustin Nightingale.

“Setting Things Around Me Free” Accepted at Red Paint Hill

It’s snowing again here in sunny Syracuse…sigh…but that can’t ruin the pleasure of sharing the news that “Setting Things Around Me Free” – one of the collaborative prose poems I’ve been writing with Dustin Nightingale – has been accepted at Red Paint Hill Poetry Journal. Thanks so much Stephanie Bryant Anderson and Red Paint Hill Publishing!

“Beehive Soaked in Tea and How to Leave (Part One)” Accepted at Radar Poetry

I’m delighted to announce another of the collaborative prose poems I’ve been writing with Dustin Nightingale has found a home. It’s called “Beehive Soaked in Tea and How to Leave (Part One)” and it’s been accepted by the estimable Radar Poetry. We’re getting ready to make a collaborative audio recording of us reading the poem together. Should be a gas. Thank you editors Rachel Marie Patterson and Dara-Lyn Shrager!

“The Sweet of Being Made Right” accepted at Sixth Finch

I’m delighted to share the news that my poem “The Sweet of Being Made Right” has been accepted by Sixth Finch for their winter issue. Thanks so much Rob MacDonald and the Sixth Finch crew!

To celebrate I’ve been rereading poems from the archive. Remember that great one about goats by Jennifer Denrow from back in the Winter 2011 issue? Do yourself a favor and reread it HERE.

Poem accepted at Ploughshares

Friends, I’m here today to share the news that a week ago the good folk at Ploughshares accepted my poem “The People Who Live Near Us Are Our Neighbors.” They wanted a second one too, but sadly I’d withdrawn that one earlier.

I’ve been living in Thrillsville ever since.

Thank you John Skoyles and the other Ploughshares readers and editors!
