Thank you Witness Magazine!

Here’s a video of me reading my poem, “The New Avenues the Only Avenues We Have,” for the launch of the new online issue of Witness. It meant a great deal to me to make this video. This poem about old and new friendships is very close to my heart and I made the recording shortly after the death of a very dear old friend.

Thank you to the editors of Witness for giving this poem a home and for hosting this virtual launch. I hope you all enjoy the video. Check back each weekend in February for more Witness Weekends video readings from the new issue…which you can read in its entirety online!

“The New Avenues the Only Avenues We Have” in Witness!

My poem “The New Avenues the Only Avenues We Have” has just been published in the new online issue of Witness Magazine. This poem is especially close to my heart, as among other things it celebrates old and dear friendships. Having just recently lost an old and dear friend, this publication is doubly poignant for me. I hope you enjoy the poem. Thank you to Lindsay Olson, Tamar Peterson, and the whole Witness team!

Hey, Why’d You Do That?

Here’s an interview with me, published today at Great Writers Steal — as part of their series called “Hey, Why’d You Do That?” — in which I respond to questions about my poem “Nerve Endings Like Strawberry Runners” recently published online at Witness.

The interview includes both the phrase “(certainty + uncertainty)” and my idea of what a poem written for a cat would look like. So, like, you’ve been warned. 🙂

Thanks Ken Nichols!
